Camión alemán Mercedes-Benz L3000

El Mercedes-Benz L3000 era un camión muy común 4x2 de 3´1 toneladas de eje trasero profusamente utilizado por la Wehrmacht. Tenía un motor diesel Daimler-Benz OM 65/4 de 4 cilindros y 75 hp de potencia. Junto con el Opel Blitz resultó ser muy fiable con buenos resultados en terreno desigual. El Afrika Korps lo utilizó en grandes cantidades pero también se vieron a lo largo de todo el Frente Oriental.

De este camión aparecieron tres versiones, el L3000, L3000A y L3000S fabricándose entre 1939 y 1943. En este periodo se fabricaron 27.700 camiones de todas sus versiones, cantidad que le convierte en el camión Mercedes-Benz más fabricado durante la contienda.

La última modernización fue la L3000S, que entró en producción desde 1940 hasta 1944. Muchos elementos superfluos fueron omitidos en la producción tardía para abaratar los costes y tiempos de fabricación. Entre ellos se encontraba la eliminación del guardabarros trasero y el parachoques fue sustituido por uno más estrecho y simple. Los faros fueron sustituidos por otros más pequeños. También sirvió como coche cocina de campaña mientras que los Mercedes-Benz L3000S con caja trasera fueron utilizados con bastante frecuencia por las unidades terrestres de la Luftwaffe.
