Marder III

(Marder III sobre bastidor PzKpfw 38(t) Ausf G/H  armado con el cañón F-22)


El cañón ruso F-22 también se instaló sobre el bastidor del PzKpfw 38(t) al igual que sucediera con el PzKpfw II. Bajo servicio alemán el cañón recibió el nombre de PaK 36(r) L/51 algunos ejemplares disponían de freno de boca mientras que otros no pero los cañones que estaban provistos de ellos eran de peor calidad.

El vehículo daba cabida a un total de 30 proyectiles para el armamento principal y podía girarse hasta 21º a izquierda y derecha, además disponía de una MG 34 para defensa cercana en el techo del vehículo. Como toda la serie Marder disponía de una escasa protección que oscilaba entre los 10 mm y los 50 mm.

Entre abril y noviembre de 1942 se produjeron 344 unidades (177 basadas en el bastidor del Ausf G y 167 en el Ausf H) adicionalmente se convirtieron otros 19 vehículos en 1943. La producción en serie comenzó el 24 de marzo de 1942 en la fábrica de Böhmisch-Mährische Maschinenfabrik AG en Praga con un rendimiento inicial entre 17 y 30 vehículos por mes. El 15 de mayo de 1942 ya se habían completado 120 ejemplares y se solicitaron otros 100 vehículos que fueron completados entre junio y septiembre del mismo año.
