“Grille” en el fondo del río

15 cm sIG 33 (Schweres Infanterigeschütz 33-1 och 33-2) auf 38(t) Ausf H Grille

English version

One of these racks was the Ausf H (Bison Ausf F Panzerkampfwagen 38 (t) 15 cm sIG 33) to combat camera center and the rear engine (differed from the Ausf M with its engine in the front chamber and combat on the back). The first version was armed with cannon sIG 33 L/12 150 mm located at the front of the vehicle, as we have seen. This first attempt proved to be unstable and after a production of 90 copies on rack Ausf H was thought to change frame. In total 370 copies were manufactured before production ceased in September 1944.

In 1995, a scuba diving club reported finding remains of soldiers in the lake bottom where they performed their dives. But it was not until 1999 that he decided to see what he really was at the bottom of the lake. In the background were plenty of ammunition both German and Soviet aircraft engine, German helmets and most interesting piece of self-propelled artillery "Grille" on frame PzKpfw 38 (t) of Czech origin. The vehicle was in good storage conditions, except for damages in one of his tracks and sides of the same side, so it was decided to remove it. After the arrival of the machinery the vehicle saw the light again after more than 50 years under water. However, I know the final destination of this magnificent piece.
